Go Tape

A few months ago I was given the opportunity to try Go Tape.

I (thankfully) haven't had any aches or pains to try it out on but after completing a 9 mile run last week I was having a really bad pain under my 2nd toe.

I Goggled all sorts of home remedies from different exercises to these little pads that you stick inside your shoes.  Nothing helped!  It was painful to walk, let alone run. I was determined to go for a run today since I have the Disneyland Half Marathon coming up very soon!

Then I remembered the Go Tape!

I followed an online tutorial for "ball of foot" application and went for my run.  I'll spare you the pictures of my foot.

I'm happy to say I ran 3.1 miles and my foot feels good!  I didn't notice the tape on my foot as I ran and quite a few hours and a shower later and it's still on.

I wasn't sure how kinesiology tape even worked but there's a great write up on the Go Tape website.  Click here to learn all about how it works. HERE

I definitely plan to buy more Go Tape in the future.  It comes in a few different colors and I really want the pink.

Have you ever tried kinesiology tape?  For what type of issue?  Did it work?  Let me know in the comments below.

Jewelry In Candles Clean Cotton Tart Reveal

I switched out my tart fragrance for a new one. This time I'm melting Clean Cotton. It's smells really good. It smells like someone is doing laundry.

You can see which tart has the jewelry.

After cramming it in the tart warmer, I let it melt

I grabbed my tweezers and got the little foil packet out.

Inside the foil is a little plastic bag.

I got a ring!

If you'd like to try a candle or tarts let me know and I'll send you a 25% off coupon code

We have so many new scents and you get to pick your jewelry type and ring size.

Fred Water

I was really excited to come home and find this box waiting for me.

My Fred Water arrived!

What's Fred water, you ask?  Well it's water in a bottle that fits in your pocket.  And Fred’s flask-shaped bottles are BPA and phthalate-free, making them safe to use and refill.

I first heard about Fred water a few months ago when I was told that the bottles fit great in the leg pocket of a Sparkle Skirt

Unfortunately Fred Water is not available in any stores close to me but I contacted the company and they were nice enough to hook me up with this little care package.

I received a full 20 oz bottle, an empty 13.5oz bottle (yes they sell empty bottles), extra caps and stickers.

Right after I put the 20oz bottle in the fridge to cool off I stuck a Fred sticker on my sewing machine cover, where all the cool stickers get stuck.

The 13.5oz bottle is a great fit in the Sparkle Skirt pocket.

With the skirt down it's a bit noticeable but at least I don't have to carry it in my hands.

It also fits great in the back pocket of a pair of jeans.

If you're wondering how Fred Water tastes, well it tastes like nothing. But that's a good thing in my opinion!

I really like that Fred Water cares about the planet and is doing its part to keep plastic bottles out of the landfills by encouraging people to reuse their bottles.

Have you tried Fred Water?  Let me know in the comments below.

Jewelry in Candles Cinnamon Tarts Reveal

I've had a few packs of tarts for a while but I didn't have a tart warmer to melt them in.

I found this one at Wal-Mart for $10.00. It doubles as a night light.

I decided to try the Cinnamon scent. These tarts are so huge I literally had to cram it in to fit.

Here's a few photos as it was melting.

This one smells so good!  It smelled like a was baking cinnamon rolls!

I used a pair of tweezers to grab the little foil pack and cleaned it off with a paper towel.

After unwrapping the foil the jewelry was visible inside a plastic bag.

I got a rose gold colored necklace!

I have to say, I really love these tarts and candles. They are 100% soy wax so they burn long and clean.

Color Me Rad 5K Los Angeles

I realize that I never finished up my review from the Tinker bell Half Marathon but I wanted to get this one up.

On Saturday, June 7, 2014 I ran the Color Me Rad 5K. I was given 2 free entries into this run in exchange for promoting it and reviewing it after.

I opted to have my packets mailed to me so we wouldn't have to get there so early in the morning.

Turns out we still had to because they only mailed out shirts, bibs, tattoos, stickers and safety pins but not our sunglasses.

I really like that we had the option of men’s or women’s shirts. I will actually wear this shirt since it fits.

There were quite a few people wearing the shirts they gave us but I didn’t want to get mine all messed up.

Since this run was the day after my birthday I made a shirt to celebrate. I also picked up some white knee socks.

Our heat was at 9:00am and we arrived a little after 8:00am. The run was held at the Stub Hub Center in Carson, CA. There were plenty of signs and people directing traffic so we had no problems getting in the parking lot. We were early and had no problem getting a spot but it looked like there was ample parking.

We headed to the registration table and were directed to the next table over to pick up our sunglasses. There were a few booths set up that we checked out as we waited for the race to start.

There was an announcer up on stage that was getting everyone excited and he was tossing out free items like shirts and cell phone protectors.

We took our obligatory “before” photo.

There were photographers from the race that were taking pictures that would later be for sale on the website. Smart Car USA was there with a couple Smart Cars and they were taking picture and emailing them to people for free.

At about 8:40am we headed to the starting line. Everyone was there decked out in white.

People were tossing their colored powder before the run even started.

I gave my 2nd entry to my boyfriend’s cousin and she brought along her granddaughter. Children under 7 are allowed to participate for free. They just don’t get a shirt or any other goodies.

We found this to be a very family friendly event. There were a ton of kids and families. I actually ran into some of my cousins during the run.

We made our way around the stadium, around a track and onto the color stations.

About half way through there was a water stop. It was nice that it was bottles of water, rather than cups.

I think I counted 4 colored powder stations, (orange, yellow, pink and purple) and one colored water station (blue).

After we crossed the finish line we were given a larger bottle of water and a granola bar as well as our packet of color. I liked that we were handed it at the end rather than have to carry it for the whole run.

We took our obligatory “after” photos and also took another set of free Smart Car photos.

The party around the stage was still going strong with color throws going off every 15-20 minutes.

Overall I think this run was a blast. We had a great time and it looked like everyone else did too. Everything was well organized and the run started on time.

We were in the pack of our heat and there was still plenty of water, granola bars, color at the stations and color packets at the end.

I would definitely do Color Me Rad again. It’s a great way to get out there and get some exercise while having fun.

If you have any questions just let me know in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer them.
